I dream in color ~ look one

One outfit, two looks
This season we're all over the jewel tones. I took the cobalt blue top and emerald pants both from Urban Outfitters and created two completely different styles.
This first look is the envy of every hipster at the Coffee Garden. I paired the same pants and top with a mustard scarf (Urban Outfitters), a black fedora (Target) and some strappy gladiator sandles.

I dream in color ~ look two

To dress up this second look up I paired it with some rainbow t-straps, vintage sunburst necklace, and purple Rayban sunglasses.

Look of the Week

A lot of people have been writing to me asking "what to wear if you're not a size 2?" This. Betsy is wearing a color block pencil skirt from Anthropologie. American Rag western shirt from Macy's, and Steven fold over leather boots from Nordstrom. The necklace, glasses and belt are all vintage finds. This is a slimming look any lady can wear to church on Sunday or the office on Monday.

Just can't handle

Platform flip-flops, rhinestones on anything besides rodeo wear, too thin eye brows, hair extensions, eye lash extensions, Miss Me jeans, Pink (Victoria's Secret) sweats, fleur de lis hats, and moms who pull up to Starbucks in their Range Rover's wearing Lululemon. There I said it.

Playing with Proportion

The late great Coco Chanel once said "Fashion is architecture it's a matter of proportion." This season it's all about the mix and balance. Full skirts with crop shirts, wide leg trousers with boxy tops, and my personal fav chunky sweaters with slim pleat pants. Play around and have some fun.... in your

Orange Love

My cute grandma Clyde with her sweet southern charm, taught me two important lessons in life:
1. You don't get married to just have breakfast together (wink wink)
2. Don't ever leave the house without lipstick on.
Needless to say I haven't always headed this advice but they are diamonds of wisdom all the same.
Clyde's lipstick of choice was always ranging from apricot, to bright tangerine
Shades of orange can totally look good on anyone. It can pull together any outfit, and make you look like you somewhat give a damn.
Here's to you grandma a woman of impeccable taste.
